Summer Externship Program

学生们 Waters of the West Program or who have declared a Natural Resource and Environmental Law Emphasis or who are pursuing one of the concurrent degree programs have the opportunity to participate in a 10-week summer externship program. Students work full-time for eight weeks at placements in 博伊西, 爱达荷州, with the United States Attorney, the 爱达荷州 Attorney General, the 爱达荷州 Department of Environmental Quality, the 爱达荷州 Department of Water 资源, or private and nonprofit law firms working on conservation and/or environmental law projects. Students attend a weekly seminar taught by practitioners working in the environmental law field from the placement organizations. Students earn up to five classroom course credits and/or pro bono hours by participating in this summer program. 2012 will be the fourth summer this program has been available to 法学院 Students. Externship coordinator Katie Ball organizes the summer placements. 克莱夫强, Chief of the Natural 资源 Division of the 爱达荷州 Attorney General’s Office, has organized the classroom component of the externship program for each of its four years, providing students with outstanding real world experiences.

Economic Development Clinic

学生们 Economic Development Clinic advise 爱达荷州 counties, 城市, 部落, and non-governmental agencies with economic development-related issues typically arising in questions of land use law, administrative law, state and local government law, and environmental law. This Clinic is a transactional and administrative practice located at the 博伊西 campus.
